In 2020, DSBJ commissioned VAVE Studio to complete the renovation of its corporate showroom in Yancheng, Jiangsu. For the essence of the exhibition space design, VAVE takes the core technology product of DSBJ. The flexible motherboard of core components used in iPhone and Tesla becomes an inspiration for the spatial concept, which allows to combine hardness and flexibility. These two components accurately reflect the characteristics of core products and values of the enterprise.

In the entrance hall, VAVE designed a reception desk with a gradual transition from straight line to curved surface made by artificial stone. The steel construction at its corner hangs down from the wall to create an imitation of a blank sheet of paper that recalls the company’s values of openness to new ideas and solutions, thriving and a simplified but pragmatic style.
An impressive Mobius ring made of flexible LEDs is hung on the ceiling of the hall. The ring does not only reflect the product’s characteristics of flexible panels, but also uses another core product of DSBJ: LED lamp beads. While it also symbolizes the spirit of the enterprise: an infinite loop, a continuous progress.

In addition, the large number of pictures and text used in traditional exhibitions was decided to be left behind in this project. Instead, the line drafts become the core element of the spatial language. All the photos stay hidden until visitor touches the sensing device and only then the projection appears on the wall.

For the introduction of graphic information, to create the feeling of lightness in space VAVE keeps its design language very subtle. The text on the exhibition wall gently floats onto the loadbearing wall, as if it were suspended in the air. This element creates a natural curl effect and the collision surface between the two other partitions, imitating once again a thin piece of paper.

In the last space the visitors’ attention is attracted in a very natural manner by the bright screen and an inclined architectural staircase, where one material changes into another recalling the core values of Diversity and Journey. Once done with the exhibition, white hairs lead up the way. The fine delicate LED light element gently guides the visitors all the way up to the second floor, inviting them to start the tour of the manufacturing factory.
